Building Momentum Together
With the leadership of Provost Ann Cudd and Senior Vice Chancellor Kathy Humphrey, the Community Engaged Scholarship Forum annually celebrates the diversity of community-engaged work across the University of Pittsburgh. It is where faculty, students, staff, and community members come to present their community-engaged work, discover new avenues of partnership, network with those who do similar work and celebrate Pitt's commitment to community engagement.
The theme for the event is "Progress Through Partnerships: Building momentum together". This full-day professional conference is an opportunity to elevate and celebrate the diversity of community engaged partnerships happening on-campus and across the region. CESF seeks to highlight projects and scholarship that reflect the values of inclusion, fairness, collaboration, reciprocity, accessibility of language, reflection, continuous learning, the interconnection of scholarship and practice, and openness and respect for a plurality of methodologies and types of knowledge.

2020 Keynote Speaker Diana Bucco
Diana Bucco is the President of The Buhl Foundation where she has led the revisioning of the Foundation’s new strategy and approach to philanthropy, including its focus on community-driven neighborhood revitalization. Prior, she was the President of The Forbes Funds, a Pittsburgh-based organization that supports nonprofit capacity-buildingthrough grantmaking,research, and leadership development. During her tenure, The Forbes Funds became a leader in supporting Strategic Restructuring, Fiscal Modeling and Advocacy on behalf of the nonprofit sector. She also launched the Greater Pittsburgh Nonprofit Partnership, a coalition of 350 nonprofit organizations that have joined together to create a unified voice for the sector.
Previously she was the founding executive director of the Coro Center for Civic Leadership and The Mentoring Partnership of Southwestern Pennsylvania, and the executive director of Pennsylvania Campus Compact. She is a Trustee of Point Park University and serves on the Boards of the Pennsylvania Economy League of Greater Pittsburgh, Carnegie Science Center, Advancing Academics, A+ Schools, and is a member of the International Women’s Forum. She serves nationally on the board of Global Ties USA. She has been recognized throughout her career for her accomplishments including the YWCA Tribute to Women, Pittsburgh Business Times Women of Influence Award, Spirit of Amelia Earhart Award by Zonta Club of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Magazine’s 40 under 40, Coro’s MLK, Jr. Leadership Awardand was the recipient of a German Marshall Fellowship. She was also recognized by the state as one of the top ten of the GenX generation.
